All of our skippers are experienced, qualified, insurable, United States Coast Guard Licensed Captains who own their own boats. We personally know every captain and crew that we place on your boat, and never use pick-ups or transients.

U.S. - Merchant Marine Officer License # (on request); Master of Steam, Motor or Auxiliary Sail 50 Gross Registered Tons; Commercial Assistance Towing; Emergency First Response with CPR-First Aid-AED (expires January 2009)

EXPERIENCE

Retired June 2007 North Carolina Educator; Private delivery - Rhode Island to Florida on S/V 27’-44’; Racing Skipper, Crew Leader; Tactician, Navigator; Fleet Captain Collegiate Varsity Sailor on J22 to J44 and everything in between.

· To help others learn the boating skills necessary to ensure them a safe and pleasurable boating experience.

· To use my training and experience in, instruction, deliveries, or charters, to meet the needs of others, and make their boating experience more enjoyable.

QUALIFICATIONS -

U.S. Merchant Marine Officer License # (on request), Master of Steam or Motor vessels of not more than 50 gross registered tons upon near Coastal Waters with a Commercial Assistance Towing Endorsement; BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified Instructor through the AHA (American Heart Association) for CPR (adult, child & infant), AED and First Aid; General Instructor with NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards at Pitt Community College

EXPERIENCE -

  • USCG qualified duty boat coxswain for search and rescue and law enforcement missions, primarily 41’- 44’;
  • Instructor at M.A.N.T.A. (Mid Atlantic Narcotics Training Academy), teaching Marine Interdiction to civilian and military police.
  • Captain and/or Crew on private deliveries from Maryland to Florida on S/V’s 30’ – 41’
  • Private instructions on power boats locally ranging from 21’ – 44’

MARINETIME EDUCATION

  • Boatswain Mate in the United States Coast Guard: qualified Coxswain and Boarding Officer, training extensively in lifesaving, search & rescue, towing, and law enforcement operations.
  • Marine Captain’s License course at Beaufort Community College, Washington, NC 
  • World Wide Marine Training, Inc. in Oriental, North Carolina.
